Summer fun... At the pool

We have had so many fun time this summer and now that we are at the end, and I am getting back into my blogging groove, it is time that I get caught up on posting some of our favorite photos! So, this first catch-up post will give you some pics of a fun day at my parent's pool (ok, the pool at their apartment, but can we just pretend it's theirs'?) and my aunt and uncle's pool. The other boy you will be seeing in the lower pics is my cousin, J, who the boys positively adore! Enjoy!

Doesn't he look old in this shot?! A total glimpse of the future!

And at the aunt and uncle's...

A rare picture of my brother and I, sorry for whoever's finger is in the bottom of the pic! I'll edit it when I get a chance, I'm just happy to be posting!

My boys have had so much fun being in the water this summer! Hopefully they will get even more chances next summer and Rhythm will officially get out of that swim ring, although he did make some wonderful strides towards it this summer with his swim lessons! Look for more summer updates soon!

Back-logging

I am hopelessly behind on this dear blog and it must end!  So, please forgive me as I attempt to bring us up to speed in the coming weeks!  Some pictures are as old as last summer- so bear with me!

Once that is done I can get on to the new and the wonderful!  No, really!

Sheer Wonderment!

I love to see my children's faces as they see the first snow of the season!  It is one of the most precious things to me about this time of year.  I managed to capture them this year- enjoy!

excitement at first sight

wonderment

"I have no idea what's going on!"
Oh, and notice the chipped front tooth- yup, that's a new one this weekend!  Now both my boys have chipped teeth!
Lovely.
And this is the view overnight!  About 4 inches!  Insane!

At Work with Dad!

About a month ago Jer had a big excavator on the job he was working on and he invited R-Man to come up an the d check it out!  The first day we went up he just got to look and get inside but the second day he got to ride around with him for the whole afternoon!  Trust me, that was this little boy's DREAM COME TRUE!!  He L-O-V-E-S big machines and trucks, so having his dad make a special little seat for him right behind the driver's seat and get to ride around and "help" for hours on end was just about the best thing ever!

He is so funny because he is very specific in his speech- he always wants to call things by their proper names (trucks are to be called trucks, not EVER cars, etc...).  Well, he knew most of it before, but now he can really name every different part of a trackhoe and tell you what it does!  It is adorable!  What a great learning experience!

Waiting in eager anticipation!

So excited... and a little goofy!

Snugglin' Lion Cub just trying to pass the time!

Soakin' up daddy loves!

And some pictures he took while waiting!

He also has a thing for forklifts and bobcats!

Lion Cub was clearly thrilled to be there!  Someday buddy, someday!

Kisses!

Awww... he loves me!

Fun at the Fair!

A couple of weekends ago we took the kids to fair and had so much fun!  We actually went two evenings in a row because the first night they gave us free tickets for the next day.

The first night we met up with some friends (R-Man has a terrible crush on their daughter!  He constantly tells me how he is the daddy and she is the mommy and he is going to drive her around in his truck!) and focused mainly on the food and the rides.

R-Man did this bungy "ride" and had a blast!

The next night we spent most of our time looking at the animals.  R-Man loved seeing the horses and the goats!  We went into the Swine barn anticipating pigs but were greeted with an array of also sorts of more exotic animal life!  Swans, a tortes family, cotomundies (don't ask- they were weird), frogs and huge snakes!  I must admit that the snakes freaked me out, especially because I didn't notice that the two people were wearing them and I was only a few feet away.  My husband all of the sudden went, "Whoa!"  And I about ran screaming!

R-Man was a little leery at first but did finally pet it.

We had so much fun!  I adore these opportunities we get to just really spend time together as a family!

Adventures at the lake!

We spent the labor day weekend and the weekend before at Grammy and Pappy's lake cabin and R-Man had a blast!  They haven't put their boat in the water for two years, so this was the first time he really remembers boating and he adores it!  He "helped" Grammy drive and thought it was just about the coolest thing ever!

He thought the noodles were really fun to swim with and he went all the way around the boat!
He especially had fun swimming around with mama and splashing me, of course!

He got to blow bubbles with Grammy which was lots of fun too!

We pulled the boat up to a beach for a while to have lunch and play, and R-Man really loved building sand castles and finding rocks!

This was his rock family- one for each of us!

The rest of the weekend me mostly spent just chillin' at the cabin and playing with Lincoln Logs!

Fun at the Orchard!

A couple of weekends ago we went up to a local orchard for a friend's birthday party and R-Man had so much fun! He got to ride on a pony named Daisy...

(he kept telling them he wanted to go faster, and faster, and faster! Go figure)

...in a wiggle wagon around the orchard....(This is his goofy "smile for the camera" grin!)

...and play in the "Pea Pit" (instead of sand they had peas! It was great!)!

(Swimmin' in the peas! We found many peas in these clothes when they were washed!)

He enjoyed some scrumptious corn on the cob but wasn't too keen on the peach pie- silly kid! That's okay- mama took care of that for him :-) !

Best of all, we got to spend quality time together as a family- it isn't often these days that daddy isn't working (in the field or his office), so it was a rare treat to have the whole day together out enjoying ourselves!
